Ingredients
- Vazhaipoo - 1 cup chopped
- Channa dal - 1/2 cup
- Tur dal – ¼ cup
- Urad dal - 2 tbsp
- Fried gram – 2 tsp
- Raw rice - 2 tsp
- Green and red chilli – 4
- Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
- Jeera – 1tsp
- Onion - 2 chopped
- Asafoetida - 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves
- Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- Oil - For deep frying
Preparation
- Soak dals, rice together for 2 - 3 hours. In a mixer grinder add chilli, jeera, fennel, fried gram, soaked mixture and grind coarsely (without adding water).
- Now add the chopped vazhaipoo and grind preferred consistency. Without adding water.
- Transfer the mixture into the bowl and add the onion, salt, asafoetida, coriander, curry leaves and mix well.
- Now heat the pan with oil, take small batter and use palm to make them flat.
- Take small size batter and drop into the oil to check the heat, now drop the batter in oil and cook in medium flame. You can fry 4 at a time.
- Deep-fry both sides until golden and until get cooked well.

If you feel the batter having excess water, add
