Mochai brinjal Kulambu Recipe / Mochai Kottai brinjal Kara Kuzhambu



Ingredients

  • Tamarind - small lemon size
  • Onion -1 chopped 
  • Small onion   - 10
  • Garlic - 6
  • Fresh Mochai -1/2 cup  
  • Brinjal – 2 slit
  • Tomato -1 
  • Turmeric Powder -1/4 tsp 
  • Chilli Powder -2 tsp 
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Sesame Oil - 3 tbsp   
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp 
  • Asafoetida - a pinch 
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp 
  • Red chilli -1 
  • Curry leaves few
  • Salt needed
  To grind
  • Fennel seed - 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Grated Coconut -3 tbsp
  • Poppy seed - 2 tsp
  • Garlic - 3
 Preparation
  • Pressure cook mochai by adding water and salt.  Allow 3 whistle and Keep aside.
  • Grind all the grinding ingredients mentioned above. Smooth paste.
  • Soak the 1 cup water and extract the juice. 
  • Now heat the pan with oil, add mustard after split, add fenugreek, red chilli, curry leaves, onion, garlic and asafoetida.   Saute for 2mins.
  • Now add cooked mochai, brinjal and tomato. Cook till tomato turns pulp and add the tamarind juice, allow to boil for 2 mins.
  • Now add the grounded paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Adjust the consistency by adding water. Cover and cook in medium flame, until raw smell go off.
  • Ready to serve Mochai Kottai brinjal Kara Kuzhambu Recipe with rice, chappathi, idly and dosai.

Heathy Green Gram / Green Moong Dal Sprout



Ingredients

  • Sprouted green gram - 2 cups
  • Small onion – 10 finely chopped
  • green chilli - 2 slit
  • Channa dal – ½ tsp
  • Mustard – ¼ tsp
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Lemon juice – ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves few
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated coconut – 1 tbsp (optional)

Preparation

  • Wash and stain the sprouted green gram in water.
  •  Now using idly pot or any vessel to steam the sprout for 5 mins in medium flame. Then keep them side.
  •  Heat the pan with oil, add mustard allow to split, add jeera, cumin and allow to colour change.
  • Now add the chilli, curry leaves, onion and salt, saute for 1 sec.
  • Add the cooked sprouted dal, coconut and mix well. Cook for 1 min and off the flame.
  • Final add the lemon juice, coriander leaves and pepper powder.
  • Ready to serve easy, healthy and tasty Green Gram Sprout.
