Mullai Keerai Poriyal - Red Amaranth Leaves fry



Ingredients

  • Amaranth leaves / Mullai keerai - 1 bunch
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped 
  • Green chili / red chili - 2 to 3  
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 to 3 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Grated coconut - 2 tbsp

Preparation


  • Clean and wash the red green leaves, drain the water and chop finely along with tender stem.  Keep aside.
  • Heat the pan with oil, add cumin seeds and chili. Saute for a min.
  • Now add chopped onion and fry till onion turn transparent.
  • Now add chopped leaves, salt, sprinkle water and mix well.
  • Cook in medium flame till the green leaves becomes soft and water dry out.
  • Finally sprinkle grated coconut and mix well. Off the flame.
  • Ready to serve healthy Mullai keerai poriyal / Red Amaranth Leaves Stir Fry
