Ingredients
- Samba rava – 1 cup
- Water – 3 cup
- Onion -1 chopped
- Green chilli - 1 slit
- Red chilli – 1 broken
- Ginger small piece chopped
- Carrot - 1 chopped
- Beans – 5 chopped
- Green peas - few
- Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder a pinch
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Coconut oil - tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Channa dal -1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves few
- Coriander leaves few
- Salt
Preparation
- Heat the pressure cooker with oil, add mustard, channa dal and jeera , when it splutters, add finely chopped onions and saute till color change.
- Now add red, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and saute for a minute.
- Then add carrot, beans, peas, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt needed.
- Now add 3 cups of water and add samba rava, mix well and taste it (if required add salt and chilli).
- Close the lid and allow 2 whistle in medium flame and reduce the flame, wait for 2 mins and off the gas.
- As soon as the pressure is released, open it and add coriander leaves and 1tsp of coconut oil, mix well.
- Ready to serve South Indian Samayal easy and healthy samba rava kichadi with curd, raita or coconut chutney.
