Mint and Coriander Chutney - Green Chutney - Pudina Kothamalli Chutney

Ingredients

  • Coriander/ Kothamalli leaves -1 cup
  • Mint/pudina leaves - 1 cup
  • Small onion- 3
  • Garlic – 3
  • Tamarind – small piece
  • Red chili - 2
  • Chana dal – 1 tsp
  • Grated coconut- 1 tsp (optional)
  • Salt  
  • Oil – 1 tsp


Preparation

Method 1

  • Heat the pan with oil, add the chana dal after colour change, and add red chilli, tamarind, onion, garlic saute for few sec.
  • Finally, add the cleaned mint and coriander leaves, salt and mix well for 1 min. After removing from flame, add the coconut and mix well and allow to cool.
  • Now put it in the mixer grinder and make it a fine paste.
  • Now transfer it to the bowl.
  • Use oil, mustard and hing for seasoning. (If you required)
  • Ready to serve South Indian special Mint & Coriander Chutney with dosa, idly, chapathi, even with rice.

Method 2

  • Clean and wash the mint and coriander leaf.
  • Add green chilli, tamarind, small onion, garlic and salt.
  • Put altogether in mixer jar and grind by adding little water.
  • Use oil, mustard and hing for seasoning. (If you required)
  • Ready to serve South Indian special Mint & Coriander Chutney with dosa, idly, chapathi and bread.
