Ingredients
- Big onion - 3 (you can use small onion too)
- Tomatoes - 2 medium size
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Channa dal – 1 tsp
- Red chilies – 3 (adjust according to your taste)
- Asafoetida a Pinch
- Tamarind - small piece
- Curry leaves few
- Garlic - 2
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Salt
For
the seasoning
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Heat the pan with oil,add channa dal,urad dal and saute until golden colour then add red chilies.
- Now add onions saute for 1 min then add tomatoes, garlic, tamarind, curry leaves, salt and asafoetida, saute in meadium flame untill tomatoes completely cooked. Remove from flame.
- Now allow the mixture to cool.
- Then put it in the mixer grinder and grind it like a smooth paste.
- Use oil, mustard and curry leaves for seasoning.
- Ready to serve South Indian special Onion tomato chutney with dosa, idly and chapathi.
