Raw banana curry / vazhakkai curry recipe

Ingredients

  • Raw banana / vazhakkai - 1  
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard - 3/4 tsp
  • Coconut - 4 tbsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • Pepper – 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli -1
  • Garlic -3
  • Curry leaves - 1  
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt

Preparation

  • Peel the skin of raw banana and cut into small pieces and put in water.
  • Now grind   coconut, coriander seeds, pepper, jeera, chilli and garlic by adding little water to a rough paste.  
  • Heat the pan with oil and add mustard, after split add turmeric, onions fry till color change.
  • Then add the ground paste saute 2 mins and add the raw banana and salt,   mix well and add 1 glass of water. Cover and cook in medium flame.
  • After water evaporates, open the lid and add 1 tsp oil, curry leaves mix well, keep frying 5 mins in low flame.  
  • Ready to serve raw banana / vazhakkai curry recipe with sambar rice, curd rice and chappati.
