More kulambu - Buttermilk Kuzhambu

Ingredients
  • Thick buttermilk (more) - 2 cups
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger - a small piece
  • Toor Dal- 1 tsp
  • Green Chillies - 2
  • Coconut grated - 2 tbs
  • Rice - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Any one of the vegetables (Ash gourd, Okra) chopped- 1/2 cup  
  • Coriander leaf few
 For Tempering
  • Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli -1
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
Preparation
  • Soak rice and Toor Dal together for 15 minutes.
  • Beat the butter milk well and keep aside.
  • Grind the soaked rice and Dal with coconut, ginger and chillies to a fine paste.
  • Heat the pan with oil and add mustard, curry leaves,red chilli  and asafoetida fry for a min and then add the vegetable as you like and fry till half cooked.
  • Now add the ground paste, turmeric powder and salt to it fry for a min.
  • Now reduce the flame and add little water to it so that the vegetable cook fully and cook until the vegetable cooks well.
  • Finally, add the buttermilk to it and mix well for 3 sec. Add few Coriander leaf. Switch off the fire.   
  • Now ready to taste the south Indian more kulambu with rice.
  • Enjoy the taste of south Indian samayal recipes.
TIP: If you use Okra fry with oil separately.
        You can also Tempering the kulambu in final. (Your choice)
