Ingredients
- Sorakkai / Bottle gourd - 1 small
- Onion - 1 chopped
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Garlic - 3 -5
- Tomato - 1 chopped
- Green Chilies - 1
- Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder -2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves few
- Coconut - 2 tbsp
- Poppy Seeds - 1 tsp
- Fennel seeds – 1tsp
- Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cashews – 2 (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 2 tsp
Preparation
- Wash, peel and cut the bottle gourd into small pieces.
- Heat the pan with oil and add mustard after split, add onion, chilli saute for few mins.
- Now add the tomato and cook till mushy.
- Add the bottle gourd, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala mix well and add little water.
- Cover and cook in medium flame till the bottle gourd is soft.
- In a mixer grinder add the coconut, cashews, poppy seeds, cumin, fennel, ginger, garlic, grind like a fine paste.
- Now add the grounded paste to the bottle gourd mixture and mix well.
- Cover and cook in low flame for 3- 4 min.
- Finally add coriander leaves.
- Ready to serve Tasty and spicy
