Vazhaipoo Masala Vadai Recipe / Banana Flower Vada Recipe

Ingredients
  • Vazhaipoo - 1 cup chopped
  • Channa dal - 1/2 cup
  • Tur dal – ¼ cup 
  • Urad dal - 2 tbsp
  • Fried gram – 2 tsp
  • Raw rice - 2 tsp
  • Green and red chilli – 4
  • Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • Jeera – 1tsp
  • Onion - 2 chopped
  • Asafoetida - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - For deep frying
Preparation


  • Soak dals, rice together for 2 - 3 hours. In a mixer grinder add chilli, jeera, fennel, fried gram, soaked mixture and grind coarsely (without adding water).  
  • Now add the chopped vazhaipoo and grind preferred consistency. Without adding water.
  • Transfer the mixture into the bowl and add the onion, salt, asafoetida, coriander, curry leaves and mix well.
  • Now heat the pan with oil, take small batter and use palm to make them flat.
  • Take small size batter and drop into the oil to check the heat, now drop the batter in oil and cook in medium flame. You can fry 4 at a time.
  • Deep-fry both sides until golden and until get cooked well.
  • Drain and serve the Vazhaipoo Masala Vadai / Banana Flower Vada Recipe 


If you feel the batter having excess water, add fried gram powder or rice flour and adjust the consistency. #snacks #recipes
