Ingredients
- Plain Idiyappam / string hoppers - 2 cups
- Grated coconut - 3/4 cup
- Big onion - 1
- Green chilli / red chilli - 2 slit
- Curry leaves – few
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Channa dal – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Salt
Preparation
- Take the cooked plain idiyappam and smoothly break and keep it aside.
- Now heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds allow it to splutter and add the channa dal,curry leaves asafoetida, after that add chillies saute for 2 sec.
- Now add the grated coconut, salt to taste and stir well on low flame for 3 mins.
- Add the plain idiyappam and mix well.
- Remove from flame and serve coconut idiyappam hot.
