Ingredients
- Plain Idiyappam / string hoppers - 2 cups
- Ripe tomato - 2 medium size
- Big onion - 1
- Green chilli / Red chilli- 2 slit
- Curry leaves – few
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Channa dal – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Coriander leaf few
- Salt
Preparation
- Take the cooked plain idiyappam and smoothly break and keep it aside.
- Now heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds allow it to splutter and add the channa dal, curry leaves asafoetida, after that add chillies saute for 2 sec.
- Now add onion and saute till colour change.
- Then add tomato, turmeric and salt to taste, cook till the tomatoes raw smell goes off and add the plain idiyappam(sevai) and mix well in low flame. Sprinkle coriander leaf.
- Remove from flame and ready to serve hot Tomato sevai / thakkali sevai idiyappam.
