Wheat Drumstick Leaves Adai / Gothumai Murungai Keerai Roti Recipe

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour - 2 cups
  • Drumstick Leaves – 1 cup  
  • Big Onion – 1 chopped  
  • Green chillies – 2 chopped
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp 
  • Channa dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil as needed
  • Salt to taste 
  • Water required

Preparation

  • Clean and wash the drumstick leaves.
  • Heat the pan with oil,add mustard  let it splutter then add channa saute for few min, add onion,chilli, curry leaves and drumstick leaves, saute till the raw smell goes off.
  • Now add this to wheat flour along with salt and mix well and add water little by little.
  • Keep mixing till dough smooth and sticky consistency.  
  • Heat the dosa pan, take a lemon sized dough and pat it in the pan.
  • Dip your hand in water while patting, pat it with your fingers till it thin.
  • Toast the adai/roti on both the sides, add oil. Let it cook on both sides. Take it out when both the sides are golden color.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney or idly podi or your choice.
  • Ready to serve healthy wheat drumstick leaves adai/roti.

Note:

  • While you patting the dough have a cup of water nearby, dip your hand in water and pat it (for easy patting)
  • Another easy way to pat the dough – banana leaf or flat plate or plastic sheet, Grease some oil and pat the dough thin, drop it to the dosa pan.
  • Instead of green chilli can us red chilli or chilli powder.
  • You can also use few coriander leaves.
