Mint Tomato Chutney / Pudina Thakkali Chutney Recipes

Ingredients
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato - 2
  • Mint leaves - handful
  • Green/red Chillies – 3-4
  • Channa dal – 1tbsp
  • Tamarind – small piece
  • Urad dal - 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
For the seasoning
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard – 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves few
Preparation
  • Heat oil, add channa dal, urad dal, red chilli and fry till dal becomes golden colour. 
  • Now add chopped onion  saute till colour change, add tomatoes, chillies, tamarind and saute till tomato cook well. 
  • Finally, add the mint leaves and salt, saute for few mins and remove from flame. Allow to cool down.
  • Grind the mixture as you like, paste or a little coarse mixture.
  • Use oil, mustard, urad dal and curry leaves for tempering.
  • Now the Mint Onion Tomato flavoured Chutney is ready to serve.
  • Serve the Mint Tomato Chutney with crispy dosa and idly too.
