Try to taste the chutney with dosa, chappathi, and poori.

  • Urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Garlic – 2
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Red/green chilies – 3
  • Coconut shredded – 1/4 cup
  • Oil – 2 tsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Asafoetida – a pinch
Preparation
  • Wash and cut snake gourd into small pieces. Remove seeds.
  • Heat the pan with oil and add chana dal, urad dal, chilies, curry leaves and fry until the dal become golden.
  • Add snake gourd and cook in medium flame for 10 mins. Off the flame and allow to cool.
  • Grind it to a fine paste along with coconut, garlic, ginger, cumin adding a little water.
  • Finally temper and add it to the ground chutney (optional)
  • Ready to serve Snake gourd / pudalangai thuvaiyal/chutney with rice or dosa.
